TASK 2: Design a controlled pattern
NOTE:
It is now time to make the "EXAMPLES" your own. Allow yourself as much freedom as possible.

Starter: Use the examples to practice your shading techniques with a drawing pencil.

REMEMBER: NEVER scribble....always control your lines. Keep a good balance between simplicity and complexity, but always controlled. Try and keep theses designs all freehand.
Develop: Start to extend your ideas into more formal and balanced designs to extend and challenge yourself and your shading techniques. You may want to use your drawing pencil as well as explore using colouring pencils.

REMEMBER: Keep your focus on simplicity and complexity and a balanced use of light and dark tones. Some designs may need a ruler or specific shapes to draw round.

Extend: Now is the time to put your shading techniques together in a more exact and formal design. You may want to use a range of drawing pencils as well as starting to explore water soluble colouring pencils.

REMEMBER: Keep your focus on simplicity rather than complexity. Balanced use of light and dark tones are vital to emphasize the shapes . Some designs may need a ruler or specific shapes to draw round.
